We travel to our tropical island paradise every day by reservation only at 7am (weather permitting) from the Honduran mainland city of La Ceiba (Sambo Creek). With a reservation we can arrange to pick you up at your accommodation in La Ceiba, or at the dock in La Ceiba as you arrive on the Galaxy ferry from Roatan or Princess ferry from Utila.

We beach launch our boats from the Hotel Canadien in Sambo Creek. Located 15 minutes to the east of La Ceiba, it is a tourism area on the mainland coast of Honduras with hotels and restaurants. Our travel time is typically 45 minutes with a stop over at the Marine Foundation office to register you as a guest in the park.

Flights

The main International Airports in Honduras are located in Tegucigulpa, San Pedro Sula and Roatan. International flights to/from Tegucigulpa, San Pedro Sula and Roatan operate daily to/from USA airports of Miami (American Airlines), Houston (Continental Airlines), Atlanta (Delta) and Ft Lauderdale (Spirit Air).

In Sambo Creek we recommend the Hotel Canadien, Diving Pelican Inn and Hotel Hellens. We recommend reservations and especially during holiday seasons. While most of the taxi drivers do not speak English, they do know the names of the Hotels.

The taxi fare from La Ceiba Airport to La Ceiba center Hotels is 200 – 350 lempiras ($US 11 - 19) depending upon the time of day, number of passengers, amount of luggage, etc.

Ferry from Utila and Roatan

When you arrive at the La Ceiba Docks, assuming you have made a reservation, we will be there to pick you up. There are many taxi's waiting outside the entrance to the ferry building. If for some reason you are not being met, take a taxi to one of the Hotels we recommend and they can put you in touch with us.
